everythinginslowmoti0n asked: hi, i just saw your post when i was looking at st martin things. I'm starting my foundation year soon and my absolute dream is to go to st martins, have you any advice on what they look for and regard as 'good' when applying for undergradute BA courses? I'm not doing my foundation year at st martins btw
Hey, I never didn’t do my foundation year at CSM either. Look back through my posts I’ve had a few other people ask similar questions. Have a range of different stuff in your portfolio to show your ability and make sure the presentation is really good like the quality of images etc, trimming, how they look through it. I don’t know what exactly they look for nobody knows that apart from themselves.
Some of you that read this may or may not know I have been a student at Central Saint Martins studying on the BA Graphic Design course for the last 3 years. Yesterday I handed in my portfolio for the last time ever, a entire year’s worth of work in 2 A3 boxes. For the last couple of weeks I have done nothing but work on completing projects, getting things printed, screen printing, made process books for each project and finally arranging my portfolio. It probably goes down as the most stressful times I have ever experienced, as many students completing university hit a submit button online a graphic design course or any design based course has way more things to be taken into consideration. However I finished in time, handed in my portfolio at 10:19am and now all we do it wait.
Life at Central Saint Martins definitely has it’s ups and downs. The last 3 years have been enjoyable and I will miss it when I leave but I haven’t quite decided yet if I think it lives up to it’s expectations of being one of the best art schools in the world (I’ll let you know when I’ve decided) The organisation isn’t great and if it wasn’t for one particular tutor in the last year I probably would have struggled my way through the year so I am extremely grateful for her. I think my work has improved dramatically throughout the last year and without even realising I have learnt so much. The art school as a hole is a great place, there is never a dull moment and the crazy/weird sights you see are definitely not one’s you see everyday. Those are some of the things I shall definitely miss once finished.
Below this you can see photos of my portfolio that I handed in.
Here is my final portfolio I handed in at Central Saint Martins. 5 projects, 5 process booklets, 4 sketchbooks.
nicolemmapearl asked: I love your work! I think you're really really talented. Also hows life at csm? I hope to maybe study fashion design there in the future!
Thank you! Life at CSM has been good for the most part, I have just completed 3 years and will be graduating in July. Not to sure what Fashion Design is like as I studied Graphic Design. Good Luck with your studies in the future!
Done some more screen printing last week for my self branding project.
The letterpress room at Central Saint Martins is a pretty amazing place.

jaywdesigns asked: Thanks for following, I love your blog! It's nice to see someone who has good taste and who answers people's questions. It's important for graphic designers to stick together. Good luck with your studies in London! Oh, and hello from New York City!

I ended up deciding that screen printing would work best for my identity, it gives the piece a much more touchy feely aspect to it.
Final hand-in as a student. What am i supposed to do with my life now?
